TIPS FOR INSTALLING YOUR NEW DECORATIVE HARDWARE:

1. There are no set areas on a garage door where strap hinges, pull handles or knockers have to be placed. It is entirely up to you provided you clear the door opening and do not place over any door joint. The best way to see if you like the location you selected is to use heavy tape, masking or blue painters tape and attach the hardware using the tape in the desire location. This way you are not drilling unwanted holes into your door. Typically, handles are attached in the second- also known as, the lock section or third door section-often the widow section or panel up from the ground.

*Please make sure the hinges, knockers or handles are NOT applied over any door section meeting point-where the door sections come together or your door will not open.

2. Once you selected the location, use a marker to identify the hole locations for drilling. Make sure the hinges/handles are level both vertically and horizontally. Use masking type tape to secure them before drilling. Blue Painters tape works best.

3. Use a small drill bit when you pilot drill a hole for the screws-SMALLER THAN THE SCREWS SUPPLIED OR YOUR SCREWS WILL NOT HOLD. If you do not pilot the screw hole, it will be difficult to attach hardware and/or you will/could crack the door if it is built with wood.

4. If the screws supplied are two different sizes, the larger ones are for the handles or knockers unless noted. All screws supplied are stainless steel with powder coated heads, not painted so you do not remove the finish when tightening with a screw driver.

5. Apply screws by hand. DO NOT USE A ELECTRIC OR CORDLESS DRILL TO TIGHTEN YOUR SCREWS as this will over tighten and the screws will not hold especially with steel or metal garage doors.

6. Installed products and or opened packages cannot be returned.

7. Custom colors-any colors other than black are special ordered and cannot be returned regardless if installed or not. The products are made to order at our powder coater.

8. All returns required a CSS number and are subjected to restock charges of at least 25%. Fasteners or Screws must also be returned in new and unused condition. Shipping charges are not refunded on orders or provided on returns. We must be notified for returns within 5 days of receipt of your order via email.
